Something for the Birdies

Not this past year but the one before, I asked for a bird feeder for Christmas and my aunt obliged, however I never got around to putting it out last winter when we were still in Michigan. I decided to throw all the little birdies I see flitting around the house and yard a bone, given the snowy conditions lately, and put it out early this week.
I started to fill it up in the kitchen, but when all the little seeds promptly started ricocheting around the room, I decided to take the job outside.
Then I hung it in the cedar tree at the side of the house
of which I have a very nice view of from the living room window
The fine feathered ones seem to love hanging around in the burning bushes at the front of the house. Maybe they eat the berries? (As I side note, I never knew before that burning bushes had these lovely little red berries over the winter. Nice to have a little color this time of year.)

I've had a couple of customers. This was either a sparrow or a chickadee.
Tell-tale footprints... someone's been visiting
And finally, a half-hidden cardinal. Not sure if he and his wifey dined or not, but nice to see them about.
